American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Annual Meeting

Medicines Development for Global Health will attend the annual meeting of the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), being held 18-22 October, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois. ASTMH is the leading US-hosted global health organisation and its annual meeting attracts over 4000 delegates from around the world, including healthcare professionals, researchers, investigators and patient advocates. This year, we look forward to a presentation by the Death to Onchoceriasis and Lymphatic Filariasis (DOLF) group at the University of Washington at St Louis (Session 81, Friday Oct 20). The presentation will focus on the 24-month data from the ongoing study investigating moxidectin vs ivermectin in combination therapies for the treatment of lymphatic filariasis [NCT04410406].Four treatment arms are being investigated in this study:

  • Ivermectin and albendazole, one oral dose annually
  • Moxidectin and albendazole, single dose
  • Ivermectin, diethylcarbamazine and albendazole, single dose
  • Moxidectin, diethylcarbamazine and albendazole, single dose

12-month data from this study was presented at ASTMH in 2022.We will be at Booth 315 at ASTMH and invite anyone who is attending this year’s meeting to visit us and meet our team.
