Medicines Development for Global Health is a founding member of the Clinical Trials Community Africa Network

Medicines Development for Global Health is one of the founding members of the Clinical Trials Community Africa Network (CTCAN). The CTCAN project seeks to enable increased, sustainable, and coordinated clinical trials on the African continent. The ultimate goal is to bring more clinical trials to Africa, including large scale clinical trials and disease outbreak response activities that often bypass Africa.

The network will provide a platform for all African stakeholders (including clinical researchers, regulators, industry partners) to improve coordination and will also raise awareness of the existing capacity of sites and laboratories across Africa. In addition, the network will contribute to harmonisation of regulatory processes across the region and strengthen less experienced sites and labs through a clinical trial preparedness framework.

The other founding partners of the CTCAN Project are BIO Ventures for Global Health, Fondation Merieux, The Janssesn Pharmaceutcial Companies of Johnson & Johsnons, and nuvoteQ.io. The work is supported by Global Health EDCTP3.
