Moxidectin

Moxidectin is a long-acting antiparasitic medicine approved for the treatment of river blindness and is in development as a treatment for scabies and lymphatic filariasis, with the potential to accelerate disease elimination.

Dovramilast

Dovramilast is an anti-inflammatory medicine being developed to treat leprosy type 2 reaction, with the aim of providing a safe and more effective alternative to current therapies. Dovramilast also has the potential to treat tuberculosis and other immune-mediated conditions, including tuberculosis meningitis and Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome (IRIS) in HIV/AIDS.

Momentum project

The Momentum Project, the first-ever community-led MDA of moxidectin, launched in Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Ghana in January 2025. Delivered in partnership with the Ghana Health Service, by the end of 2025 the program had reached more than 110,000 people.

Better Options for Lymphatic Filariasis Treatment

This MDGH-sponsored Phase 3 clinical study will commence in 2026 in Fiji, assessing the safety and efficacy of MDA with moxidectin versus ivermectin in combination with DEC and albendazole (MoxDA vs IDA) for lymphatic filariasis and other neglected tropical diseases (NCT07159373).

Dovramilast for Acute or recurrent leprosy type 2 reaction

This MDGH-sponsored Phase 2 clinical study will evaluate the optimal dosing, safety, and the efficacy of dovramilast in adults with moderate to severe acute or recurring leprosy type 2 reaction. The Project Team has been actively preparing for a Phase 2 study, set to commence in 2026 with completion expected in 2027, across the U.S., Philippines, Indonesia, Madagascar, Benin and Côte d'Ivoire.
